Rating : - Face it, the only reason... ... anybody would really be here is if, tada! something is wrong with the original adapter that came with their Kindle. Yes, there are those who had their cats chew on it or lost it, but the others? And the fact that it is backordered with no definite date on when it might come in?
Yes, until last night, I would have given it a five stars. I was one of the first on the Kindle Bandwagon and have been pretty much happy as a clam the way everything has gone so far. I do not twist my adapter into a knot when not in use, nor have I attempted to use it on anything other than my Kindle. Last night, however, noting my battery was on the low, I plugged it in and kept reading. After about ten minutes I noted the charging light was no longer on.
It wasn't because the Kindle had recharged. The past day I've poked at it, finding that if I turn the Kindle off and hold it HARD in this absolutely precise, unwavering way, it will charge. Needless to say, this is an aggravating way of spending your time, particularly as this precise position is so absolute that there appears to be no way of really maintaining it if, say, you want to do something like breathe.
And as already mentioned, to top it off, trying to get a blasted replacement is not going to happen anytime soon. This leaves me with the few non-Kindle options, one of which requires the actually Kindle power adapter to use (which boggles the mind in a completely different way).
I'm fairly certain that cussing is not permitted in reviews, but this is the first time I've actually been so acutely annoyed at something that a long stream of cuss words are the only appropriate ending I can think of. Read more ... | |
