Engineers battery: car battery: cold start vs. Ampere time?
Car batteries are rated by amps cold start while the other batteries are classified in ampere-hours. How cranking amps cold and amp-hour rated on?
The definition of ampere cold start (CCA), a car battery is the amount of current a given battery can deliver for 30 seconds at zero (0) degrees F without falling under a specified cutoff voltage (manufacturer-specific, but usually 10.5 volts). The number of hours you said how Amp current is available when discharged evenly over a period of 20 hours. The number of hours amplifier is cumulative, so how many Amp constant output battery for 20 hours, you must divide the number of hours of 20 amps. Example: If the battery has a nominal capacity of 75 amperes, divided by 20 = 3.75. This battery can carry a load of 3.75 amps for 20 hours before dropping to 10.5 volts. (10.5 volts is the fully discharged level, at which the battery must be recharged.) A battery with a rating of 55 ampere-hours, take a load 2.75 amps for 20 hours before dropping to 10.5 volts.
