Rating : - Perfect lantern I got this as a Christmas present in 2007 and I absolutely love it. You just can't go wrong with this lantern. It's light weight, rechargeable, bright and dependable.
You can get twice the battery life out of it by using the "low" setting instead of "high" and there's almost zero difference between the two settings. I NEVER use it on the "high" setting because there's just no need.
The light quality is great. Since it's battery powered, no hissing, no smell and no flicker. No problems.
It also features a handy nightlight feature that my kids really like, and I do, too. Helps you to not step on something or someone for a late night excursion to the bathroom. The nightlight bulb is angled so that it shines a soft amber light on the ceiling of your tent or RV. Not obnoxious at all. If you are camping where you have electricity you can recharge the battery all night WHILE you run the nightlight. Pretty sweet.
The enclosure around the bulb is plastic instead of glass since it doesn't get hot. So, no broken glass to cut little fingers. Also no fire hazard since there's not propane involved.
You can recharge it from a regular household outlet or from a 12 volt plug like you have in your vehicle.
If you're thinking about getting a rechargeable lantern, this is DEFINITELY the one to have. Read more ... | |
