Charge Controller for solar energy project?
I decided to change my RV Ford Champion in 1972 a green machine. This will be a series of projects, but I think you have to start somewhere. I bought 2 solar panels 20W 24V, and I connect to my RV. There is some initial work will keep the battery charged, but after loading a set of batteries to run appliances (especially the interior lights). Today, I just bought two solar panels. I suspect the charge controller should be next. Should I buy a charge controller with low prices and lose part of the efficiency of solar panels (I think I'll lose some charge during the collapse panels to match the voltage battery) ... or do I choose the more expensive MPPT charge controller. Another note ... what device is using solar panels to be automatically replaced the 2nd battery when the batter is fully charged start? Thank you in advance.
MPPT is a loss of power levels. Generally, you can enjoy at the control table is 500w or more. In fact, total 40W, you may be able to get away without charge controller - you make less than 2 amps to the battery.
